HTTPS and certificates

Do you have a website? Is it in HTTPS? Yes..... good! No..... badly.

Since January 2019, Google has started to favor in search results those sites that have changed the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to HTTPS via an SSL certificate.

If you were interested in getting into the technical view this link. If, on the other hand, you are not interested in the technical but the substantive I will explain why you should have the site in with the https prefix.

HTTPS is a protocol that protects the data exchange between your Web site and the clients-that is, the devices that view the site. Users want to be sure that when they browse the Internet and enjoy a Web page, they are doing so safely and securely.

If you are using Chrome try looking in the top left corner of the bar where the web address is:

  • Locked padlock: well
  • "Not sure": we are in bad shape

Making your site trustworthy to those who browse it is a boon in terms of image and the first starting point for attracting new customers. Now more than ever, it is also critical to gain search rankings and not be penalized by Google itself.

But what are SSL certificates?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) digital certificates are protocols whose function is to encrypt the flow of information that is collected by your site so that any data cannot be "seen" by other parties.

SSL certificates (especially important for e-commerce, but not only) have not insignificant advantages that provide visibility, data security, trust, with low costs.

What we can do

SSL certificate activation is the first step in upgrading your site bringing it into the new IT era. Simply purchase the certificate from a professional who will match the certificate to your website.

Once this is done, all you have to do is upload it to the server that hosts your site and you are done.

It is an extraordinarily simple and inexpensive operation but will bring no small image benefits.
